Life Drawing - Term 2 Week 1

Forty minute study  - black paper, charcoal, chalk.

For this study I focused on the shadows the model cast onto the wall behind her, there was an image projected onto the wall so I tried drawing that as well as I wanted to try creating a proper composition, rather than just drawing figures with no background.

Four five minute poses and three 30 second poses - charcoal.

Whilst drawing the five minutes poses, I tried to use more animated, fluid lines with charcoal. This helped me break out of my realistic drawing style. For the three thirty-second poses, I didn't raise the charcoal from page whilst drawing, which I found difficult, but I wanted to try it out.

20 Minute Study - Graphite

I feel that I could have been more adventurous with this drawing. In the future, I would like to start using colour a lot more, rather than just sticking to using graphite, charcoal, and chalk.
